Being isolated can have a major affect on people鈥檚 lives. When someone is isolated they have no contact with the outside world and no one to socialize with. This can easily cause one to become depressed. If one is isolated it can cause various metal problems brought on by depression and extreme boredom. It may sound silly, however being isolated cause definitely cause one to grow insane. Once they get out of isolation deep down, they wont be the same person. Being isolated from the outside world for a long period of time can dramatically change a person鈥檚 outlook on life and the way they think.


How does Isolation have an effect on peoples' lives?
Isolation gradually erodes the perspective which people have of life.


Elderly people become so concerned by say a flaw in their carpet that it dominates their thinking- the boundaries close in on the mental state.


As savages living on this harsh planet say one million years ago , we were only able to eat because we learned to attack the great beasts in numbers. Co-ordinated attacks and the use of fire also worked to our advantage ie we were able to make use of our higher brain capacity.


But today the population is reaching a level at which the planet can no longer support that population. We work in overcrowded offices, we travel in over-packed trains and buses is it any wonder that we don't want to talk to each other on the train or the bus? People deal with this pressure by reading their paper and ignoring the travelling companions.


Once you stop work or retire it's very important to retain some interest on what is happening in the broader world, otherwise we end up talking to the cat!! and when someone does come into their life they feel distinctly uncomfortable- they yearn for the peace and normality of their small world.For many the TV is a soothing relief- something to watch and not think about, whereas a person who maintains an active interest in world affairs, investment, history catering and so forth has a better chance of avoiding the mental disorders that affect so many elderly people.


How is it that Britain's politicians have managed to surrender British Sovereignty to Brussels- why aren't they up in arms protesting at the loss of their rights. Britain is now almost totally ruled by a foreign body of politicians who are unaccountable and totally undemocratic- yet Magna Carta was supposed to ';guarantee the rights of the citizen!';
