Some foods didn;t have good dna isolation,others did,what could be an explanation for this?

DNA is in the nucleus. Some food like wheat flour contains mainly starch, and is so a poor source for DNA.Some foods didn;t have good dna isolation,others did,what could be an explanation for this?
My guess would be if you heated the food beforehand. That would greatly reduce the amount of DNA isolated. Other differences could be between meat and plant foods, due to differences in cell types and the cell wall around plant cells.
