What Mechanisms led to genetic isolation?

???????????? please help me.What Mechanisms led to genetic isolation?
I would imagine that genetic isolation belongs to Prezygotic Isolating Mechanism.

To my knowledge, there are 5 main types of isolations in prezygotic isolating Mechanism:

1. Geographic isolation

2. Ecological isolation

3. Behavioral isolation

4. Temporal isolation

5. Mechanical isolation

I've never heard of genetic isolation! It must be a new theory on reproductive isolation?

It makes sense that genetic isolation also belongs to prezygotic isolating mechanism because if genetics are different then the two organisms would be separate species from start, they won't mate together. Thus this is called ';prezygotic isolating mechanism';.What Mechanisms led to genetic isolation?
By genetic isolation, you mean the isolation of a reproducing population's gene pool from other gene pools of the same species, right?

I think this occurs when a population is somehow isolated from the other members of their species. I guess a classic example is the group of turtles, half who live on one side of a forest, half on the other when a major highway gets built through the forest. Since they are unable to cross the highway and interbreed, the two turtle populations become isolated, as do their gene pools. If enough time goes by, the differences in their genetics (due to random variation and any differences in the natural selection pressures each faces) will be great enough that, even if brought back together, the two populations will be unable to interbreed.

Hope this helps. Sorry I am not a biologist. :)
