What did the isolation policy made by USA at ww2 time make happen? What did it cause?

It allowed the Axis powers to take land and resources with out any real reprocusions. By the time the England and then the U.S. got involved Germany, Japan and Italy had already built up their resources and invaded their neighbors in Asia, Europe and Africa.
