Terrible disease that cause you to live in isolation?

I am writing a story about a woman who is so sick that she has to live in a small hospital room in isolation to prevent her germs from spreading, she is only allowed to be visited by the doctor, no one else. Is there any sickness that they actually do this with, or am I just going to have to invent one for the story? You can't just put an Auto-immune disease, because there are a ton of them. Not to mention most of them you function 100% around people, I'd know, I have one.





You can use SCIDS, Severe Combined Immunodeficiency Disorder, which is basically ';Bubble Boy Syndrome.'; (If you haven't seen the movie, the kid has to live his life in a plastic bubble, because his body can't fight off any infection.)
