What is meant by the statement ';living things do not exist in isolation';?

It means that no man is an island.What is meant by the statement ';living things do not exist in isolation';?
It means that all living things require some form of social contact with their own species.

Fish = School

Humans = Families

Wolves = Pack

Cows = Herd

etc...What is meant by the statement ';living things do not exist in isolation';?
Organic (living) things depend on other living things for food, reproduction, and/or social structure.

If there was only one living thing in the world - or outer space - it would eventually die and that would be that.

Another meaning is that to be vital (living) we cannot thrive without company, without social interaction, without relationships.
It means that living things do not live in a closed system. They have external agents acting upon them and networking with them.
It means that each kind of living thing is dependent upon other kinds of living things for survival. No species, dropped into a non-biological, purely geological environment could survive for long.
