Need to make isolation platforms for my stereo gear. Where can I get maple lumber?

Look up local lumber companies by doing an internet search on Yahoo or Google.Need to make isolation platforms for my stereo gear. Where can I get maple lumber?
First, attempt Lowe's or Home Depot for Maple lumber....then for more custom cuts of wood, you will need to find a lumber store like your Dad used to go to....someone who has been in the business since the 60's or 70's......

Lastly, don't close your mind to plastic or store bought/internet bought....the new technology isn't made of maple anymore.Need to make isolation platforms for my stereo gear. Where can I get maple lumber?
Don't bother - ';microphonics'; is just a buzz-word to sell you crap and keep people buying silly trinkets that don't so anything.

The amount of distortion is so minute - on the order of 0.001% added due to vibration - that even covering your gear in lead sheets won't make an audible difference.

Also avoid:

$1,000 power cables - it plugs into $0.10 romex in the walls

$2,000 speaker cables - you'll never hear a thing

$450 wooden preamp knobs - no joke, they sell them

$100 aluminum foil - supposed to reduce stray fields - ya, right

$200 rocks - supposed to ';deaden'; speakers - duh?

The list goes on forever.

Stick with decent equipment, decent wires, and the best speakers you can afford - speakers make the singly biggest difference in sound. By the way, a VERY good speaker system produces about 5%THD - believe me, maple won't help.
You can get maple lumber at almost any lumberyard, call around. If you are making the isolation platforms to stop harmonic distortion then also check out places that sell different types and densities of foam rubber so that it isolates the vibration created by the speakers (putting the foam under the components and not the speakers of coarse).
